Building a Community: Ideas for your Music for Peace Concert

  1. If you have a printed concert program, please include all or part of this text to help create a greater sense of connection amongst all Music for Peace Project concerts.

  2. Have a donation box at your concert. Donate the funds to either a local charity of your choice, or to an international charity effort or both. Let these charities know before the concert! They may be able to help with PR, organization and speaking at your event.

  3. Put a contact information sign-up sheet at the door so audience members can hear about your upcoming events. You can give them the option of to also sign up for The Music for Peace Project email list as well -- then pass on that contact info to us (info@m4p.org).

  4. Call a local peace or social justice group to speak at your event.

  5. Post a big map of the world, and show where all the other Music for Peace concerts are happening! People loved to see it at our festival last year--it made the connection between the international concerts very real. We used pins to designate concert locations, and connected them with string.

  6. Print out our poster and post it at the event. A Word document version is now online so that you can use the text or logos as you see fit.

  7. Have someone record your concert and take photos. Please share them with us! We will use these to garner support for next year's Project and add them to our online Music for Peace Project photo album!

In the mean time, keep spreading the word.
